Bob Herbert's hard hitting column describes the reasons why one young GI, Aidan Delgado, who enlisted into the Army on the morning of September 11, 2001 before hearing about the terror attacks, was sent to Iraq in the spring of 2003 where he was stationed at the prison compound in Abu Ghraib eventually applies for and was granted conscientious objector status.
