Cutting Through The Crap: Head-Scratcher

An interesting take on what's going on in the US today, in particular in town hall meetings and about trying to get universal health care for all citizens. The writer here asks one very interesting question: In what way is any of it socialism? He adds another important point: destructive manipulation. And then asks if as a society Americans can deal with difficult themes.

Comments:

First - Socialism is government ownership of the means of production and the abolition of private property and free exchange. If you have to ask how the following are socialism you clearly don't get it:
- Govt run health care
- Govt run banks
- Govt hirings and firings of automotive company CEOs
- Govt control of private sector salaries

The USA is a Constitutional Republic - not a Democracy; and certainly not a Socialist Republic. Nowhere in the Consitution is the US Govt given the power to do the things the Obama administration is doing. They should all be tried for treason.
